The Jefferson Parish Administration and the Jefferson Parish Council are committed to solving the problem of blight and reducing crime in Jefferson Parish.

Together we’re going to send a strong message to violators and focus on a higher “Quality of Life.”

The task force will use parish code enforcement workers along with J-P Sheriff’s deputies, targeting 17 neighborhoods, conducting inspections three days a week, thus reducing the amount of blighted properties which have a direct correlation with crime.

Early sweeps have yielded more than six thousand violations in one month; more than one thousand violations have been issued.

It’s part of building economic development while fighting crime issues.
