LaToya Cantrell - Mayor

LaToya Cantrell's grandparents instilled in her a sense of self-respect when she was a little girl. "Stand up tall because you matter."

Today, she is asking to be your next Mayor so that her daughter RayAnn, and all of our citizens can truly feel connected to the growth and opportunity they deserve.

She always stood with the women of New Orleans. As a community leader and public servant, LaToya delivered results in housing, neighborhood stabilization, education, economic development and healthcare through understanding and taking action.

She worked with the state legislature for much needed comprehensive sex education, and spearheaded a resolution committing the city to addressing gender disparities.

As mayor, LaToya will fight for Step Up Louisiana's Economic Three Point Plan - equal pay for equal work, $15 minimum wage, and banning the box.

She will also ensure that city government reflects its community, putting more women and people of color on boards, commissions, and in leadership roles within city departments.

Watch this short film inspired by Andra Day's song "Rise Up," that was filmed last year. When we go to the polls on November 18th, we will stand tall for LaToya like she stood tall for us.
