Mojito Pointe
Dear Calcasieu Voter;

I'm Dan Lee, the Managing Partner of Creative Casinos -- the company behind the planned Mojito Pointe resort.

Mojito Pointe is a new, 400 guest room casino resort, planned to be built adjacent to L'Auberge du Lac along the Calcasieu River in Lake Charles. Besides two hotels, a casino, and a wide assortment of new restaurants and nightclubs, Mojito Pointe will also offer a new championship golf course, a world-class spa, a tennis center offering tennis exhibitions, a professional croquet court, and a School of Falconry. With its 2,500 capacity show room, it will host top class entertainment for both visitors and residents. Mojito Pointe is designed to compliment L'Auberge du Lac and to help make Lake Charles the preeminent casino destination resort in the South.

Louisiana law requires local voter approval of the site of each new casino. That election is scheduled for this Saturday, April 30. Our polling indicates strong community support for Mojito Pointe, but we are also acutely aware that it is an off-season election on a Saturday, at a time of the the year when people typically enjoy many different recreational activities.

There have been many times in history where people assumed that something would be approved by voters, but then few people voted and the proposal that was widely expected to win did not. Every vote counts. Elections are often determined by only a handful of votes, particularly elections like this one, where there are only a handful of items on the ballot.

Drs. Daryl Burckel and Michael Kurth of McNeese State University estimate that the new casino resort (which will itself cost over $400 million) will cause a total investment in the community of $700 million, with 6,000 incremental jobs and $102 million per year in incremental tax revenues.

Please vote "Yes" for Mojito Pointe and help us keep the prosperity going in Calcasieu Parish.

Sincerely,

Dan Lee
